494,000 Americans at Risk of Bank Fraud and Identity Theft As Massive Data Breach Exposes Names, Financial Records, Medical Data, Social Security Numbers and More: Report

A recent cybersecurity incident has exposed the personal, financial, and health records of nearly 500,000 Americans. Numotion, a mobility and assistive solutions provider, revealed that the data breach occurred between September 2nd, 2024, and November 18th, 2024. The breach involved unauthorized access to the firm’s employees’ email accounts by an unknown entity.

After conducting a thorough investigation, Numotion confirmed that the compromised emails contained sensitive customer information. This information may include names, dates of birth, product details, payment and financial account information, health insurance details, medical records, and in some cases, Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers.

In response to the breach, Numotion is reaching out to all affected customers to inform them of the incident. The company is also offering identity theft protection services to individuals whose Social Security numbers were exposed. So far, there have been no reports of the stolen data being used for fraudulent activities. However, Numotion advises affected customers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to identity theft, healthcare fraud, or financial fraud.

Numotion specializes in providing customized assistive equipment for people with disabilities, including wheelchairs, seating and positioning devices, home accessibility solutions, and medical supplies.
