After Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s death, Tyler Perry is opening up about his mental health history.
A professional dancer, actor, former DJ and co-executive producer for the “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” boss, died by suicide on Tuesday at age 40.
“Life,” Perry captioned a moving Instagram video on Thursday in tribute to Boss.
Perry said, “I, like the rest of the world, am shocked by the death of Stephen Boss, tWitch.” ”
I’ve met him only a few times. He always seemed so full of life, like a light.
He discussed his own past struggles.

I just want to take you back to a time in my life when I tried to commit suicide. I felt like things were so dark and I didn’t think it would get any better. “Ending my life was the only way to make this better,” Perry said.
“If any of those attempts had been successful, I would have missed out on the best part of my life,” he continued.
Perry encouraged people who are struggling to reach out for help.

It might seem like there’s no way out, but please reach out to somebody. He said that if you are dealing with anything that is emotionally taking you to a place where you think you want to end your life, you should call and ask for help.

“What I realize now, looking back on all those dark times is, sometimes the pain is a buy-in,” said Perry, explaining how he got through his own pain. I understand that it’s hard to know. Sometimes the pain is a buy-in, but not all the time. I had to learn to look at it that way to get through it. If I had given up when things were tough, I wouldn’t have gotten to experience the best years of my life. I was buying into something and paying for it.
He said, “I know that doesn’t make sense to a lot of people, but for me, it was the way I was able to rationalize it. I was able to move through the pain, knowing that if I could just get through this moment, there’s got to be something better.”
“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” Perry said.
He said, “If you are considering suicide and have already been through a lot of hell, please think about what the other side could be.” ”
“It would be amazing.” If you went through the darkness, you would miss the best part of it. Do not let the darkness deter you from experiencing this wonderful aspect of life.”
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline resource information was shared by Perry.
