Law & Order Jesse Martin gets new series on NBC
The Irrational is a new drama from La Brea creator Arika Lisanne Mittman that Law & Order alum Jesse L. Martin is returning to NBC for. Martin stars as a world-renowned professor of behavioral science who uses his expertise to help solve high-stakes cases for governments, law enforcement, and corporations.
Universal Studio Group’s Universal Television division is the source of The Irrational.
Maahra Nhill (Delilah) will play an FBI agent with a passion for work opposite Martin. Arash DeMaxi (The Equalizer), Molly Kunz (Chicago Fire), and Travina Springer (Ms. Marvel) are also in the cast.
Martin is credited as a producer, in addition to Arika Lisanne Mittman, Mark Goffman, and Samuel Baum who all serve as executive producers. David Frankel is the director and executive producer.
Last February, The Brave creator Dean Georgaris’ proposed drama Blank Slate was ordered along with the pilot for The Irrational. Shanola Hampton’s procedural drama Found was picked up by NBC in July, while Unbroken and Blank Slate were not.
As of press time, the number of episodes ordered for The Irrational and its debut date have not been confirmed.
