“Dr. Love” headed back to prison for theft
Malachi Love-Robinson, who was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for impersonating a doctor, is headed back to prison. After pleading guilty to stealing more than $10,000 from his employer while working as a salesperson for a company that connects shippers with trucking companies, this is what comes next.
According to news source reports Love-Robinson appeared in court in Palm Beach County, Florida, last week and pleaded guilty to grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.
According to court documents, instead of having customers send money to his employer, Love-Robinson would have them send the money to accounts he controlled while working for the company.
The 25-year-old “Dr.Love” became infamous in 2016 when he was identified as a fraud in many internet memes. “Love” opened The New Birth New Life Medical Center. During house calls, Love-Robinson stole $30,000 from a patient in her 80s, leading to his arrest. Officials said that he also stole an additional $20,000 from a doctor.
An undercover officer caught Love-Robinson when the officer posed as a patient and received prescribed treatment from the scammer.
Love-Robinson was out on bail until he was arrested again in Virginia after he allegedly tried to buy a car with a stolen credit card. After pleading guilty in both cases, the notorious scammer was released from prison in 2019.
