Watch the Bulldogs and the Horned Frogs in the playoffs
On Monday evening, the winner of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs game will be crowned college football’s best team.
One team will etch their name into college football history at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles after five months of grueling action and two extraordinary semifinals.
This is a chance for Georgia to enter the record books. As the defending champion, Georgia has the chance to become the first team to win consecutive national titles since the competition was reformatted in 2014.
The Bulldogs have gone undefeated this year with Stetson Bennett at the helm, leaning on their stout defense. Notably defensive tackle Jalen Carter, tight end Brock Bowers and corner back Kelee Ringo are future NFL talents on this team.
TCU’s success this year has been much more of a surprise. After entering the season unranked, TCU became the first team to play for a national championship with a first-year head coach – Sonny Dykes – at the helm.
Max Duggan, the team’s quarterback, came in second for the Heisman Trophy this season with 3,546 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also had 461 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns, helping TCU to the fifth highest scoring defenses.
Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, one of college football’s top defensive backs, is at cornerback, and Dylan Horton is heating up, showing the resilience of the TCU defense.
If the two college teams can replicate the excitement they both brought to the semifinals, fans are in for a treat. The teams have not faced off since 2016, when Georgia won 31-23.
