Biden’s State of the Union Address

The President stated that prior to falling to thirteenth place, the nation had been number one in the world in terms of infrastructure. We have returned to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the largest investment in infrastructure since President Eisenhower’s Interstate Highway System, now that we have come together. We have already funded more than 20,000 projects, ranging from major airports such as Boston, Atlanta and Portland. Rebuilding our highways, bridges, railroads, tunnels, ports and airports, providing clean water, and establishing high-speed internet access across America, these projects will create hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Cities are often referred to as urban areas. Living in the suburbs Living in a rural area. The tribe. We have only just begun. I sincerely thank my friends who are Republicans and who voted for the law. If my Republican friends voted against it but still request funding for projects in their districts, they need not worry. I promised to serve all Americans as president. We will provide funding for your projects. I’ll see you at the ground-breaking.

The President stated that, due to the unprecedented deficits, no president had accrued more to the national debt in any four years than his predecessor. That administration alone added nearly 25% of the entire national debt, which had been accumulated over the course of 200 years. What was Congress’s response to a large amount of debt? They raised the debt ceiling three times without any prior stipulations or emergency situations. In order to stave off economic ruin for our nation, they paid America’s bills. This evening, I am imploring this Congress to do the same.

Some of my Republican friends are threatening to take the economy hostage unless I accept their economic plans. Everyone at home should be aware of their plans. Some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset every five years, instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share. If Congress doesn’t vote to keep them, those programs will go away, meaning they will no longer exist.

At this point, Republicans became enraged, to which Biden spontaneously responded that all parties agree that Social Security and Medicare are not up for negotiation.

Some Republicans have claimed that if Social Security and Medicare are not cut, they would be willing to allow the United States to default on its debt for the first time ever. I will not permit that to occur. Millions of seniors rely on Social Security and Medicare as a lifeline.

Since they began working, Americans have been contributing to them with each paycheck. Let us all agree to stand up for seniors tonight. Rise up and demonstrate that we will not reduce Social Security. We will not reduce Medicare funding. The American people are entitled to those benefits. They earned them selves. Should anyone attempt to reduce Social Security, I will put a stop to it. Should anyone attempt to reduce Medicare funding, I will impede them. I will not permit them to be taken away. Today is not the day. Tomorrow, not. Never.
