Why are so many Strong Black Women Single? What’s more important? A successful career or successful relationship? Having the money or getting the honey? Why can’t they have both??

Do you know this woman? A successful Black woman, who holds advanced degrees, earns six figures annually, and is passionately committed to their career or faith? They’re often intelligent, personable, and free of baggage, yet remain single despite their accomplishments. Why is that?

Many people wonder whether having a successful career is a relationship killer, or if prioritizing family can hinder career goals. Do Black women who pursue their careers pay a higher personal price and are less likely to get married and have children than their male counterparts?

It’s important to remember that a successful career and a successful relationship are not mutually exclusive. They can go hand in hand, and a supportive partner can encourage and enhance one’s career aspirations.

While traditionally, one would establish themselves in a stable job first and then start a family, this order of things is not set in stone. Some Black women may choose to prioritize their family first, while others may focus solely on their careers.

What’s holding Black women back from having both? The glass ceiling and the boys club may play a role, but ultimately, it comes down to personal choices and circumstances. It’s important to recognize that every individual’s journey is unique and valid.

So, which would you choose – a successful career or a successful relationship? There’s no one right answer, as it depends on your individual goals and priorities. Ultimately, it’s about finding a balance that works for you.
