Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Durant, and Dwayne Wade Invest in Tiger Woods Sports Media Company
Yo, check it: Tiger Woods is making power moves in the sports media game with his new venture, TMRW Sports. And he’s not doing it alone, he’s got some heavy hitters on his team.
In August 2022, Woods announced that he’s partnering up with TMRW founders Mike McCarley and Rory McIlrory to launch the company that’s all about blending sports, entertainment, and technology. It’s set to debut officially in 2024 and will include a tech-infused golf league that Woods is hyped about.
But it’s not just Woods who’s excited about TMRW Sports. Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade, and Kevin Durant, along with his partner Rich Kleiman for their company 35V, have also jumped on board as investors. And that’s not even all the big names involved. Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Chris Paul, and Jayson Tatum are already on the team.
According to a blog post, McCarley says that the company’s appeal is broadening and gaining momentum with these new investors. He welcomes their leadership, insight, and enthusiasm as they reimagine sports through the lens of a new generation of connected fans. Plus, he’s looking forward to the company pickup games.
Woods himself is thrilled to be blending golf with technology and team elements common in other sports. He thinks that the traditional golf experience can’t match the energy of being in a football stadium or basketball arena where every play and minute of action is unfolding right in front of you.
