Lauren Hill sued by Pras of the Fugees

Lauryn Hill is being sued by her Fugees bandmate Pras Michel over the canceled reunion tours of 2023 and 2024. Pras Michel has filed a lawsuit in federal court, accusing Hill of fraud and breach of contract. The lawsuit claims Hill mismanaged the 2023 tour’s budget and canceled several shows due to “vocal strain,” leading to financial losses. Pras alleges that Hill took 40% of the tour’s earnings, leaving him and other members with much less.

In addition, Michel accuses Hill of turning down a $5 million offer to perform at Coachella without informing him, supposedly because another band would receive top billing. This lawsuit highlights deeper issues within the group, as Michel was already struggling with legal problems during this time and claims Hill exploited his vulnerable position. Michel’s suit seeks compensation for the lost income and mismanagement surrounding the tours.

Hill, in response, has called the allegations “baseless” and denies any wrongdoing. This legal battle adds to the already tumultuous history of the Fugees, whose reunion efforts have often been marred by cancellations and internal disputes.
