Stephen Colbert Spots Truly Uncomfortable Moment Trump Was Tripped Up By Easy Question
Stephen Colbert, host of the “Late Show,” pointed out an amusing moment during President Donald Trump’s meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin at the White House earlier this week.
The awkward moment occurred when a reporter asked Trump to name his favorite Irishman.
“Trump struggled to come up with a name but did manage to compliment a particular Irishman,” Colbert remarked before showing footage of Trump hesitating.
“Oh, there’s so many, are you kidding me?” Trump responded. “I do happen to like your fighter. He’s got the best tattoos I’ve ever seen.”
He was referring to Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor but couldn’t recall his name until a reporter reminded him.
“It’s clear he couldn’t think of a single Irish person,” Colbert joked, then proceeded to impersonate Trump struggling to name people from Ireland.
“There’s Shaquille O’Neil, big guy. Kathy Ireland, I love Kathy, Kathy Ireland. Of course, the green M&M,” Colbert quipped.
