Vatican Releases Photo Of Pope Praying From Hospital Suite Chapel

The Vatican recently unveiled the first image of Pope Francis since he was hospitalized over a month ago for pneumonia in both lungs.

“This morning, Pope Francis took part in the Holy Mass at the chapel of the apartment on the tenth floor of the Gemelli Polyclinic,” read the caption accompanying the photo from the Vatican press office. Concelebration, the joint celebration of the service by senior clergy, took place during the Mass.

The photograph depicts the Pope, without his skullcap, seated in a wheelchair, adorned in a white robe and purple shawl, positioned in front of a modest altar and crucifix mounted on the wall.
