2 white teens arrested for hate-filled group attack on black teenager, 16, inside NYC subway station

Two white teenagers were taken into custody after a disturbing incident at a Brooklyn subway station where they targeted a black teenager with racial slurs and physical violence. The 16-year-old victim was walking through the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station when a group of nine teens approached him in a hate-filled attack around 8 a.m.

The perpetrators threw a banana at the victim, used derogatory language, and proceeded to kick and punch him before stealing one of his shoes on the mezzanine level inside the station. The victim initially declined medical attention but later sought treatment at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health for head injuries sustained during the assault.

The entire ordeal was captured on video and shared on social media, garnering attention before being removed. Charges are pending against the two arrested teens, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old, while the other individuals involved, believed to be teenage boys, remain at large.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force has taken over the investigation to address the racially motivated nature of the attack and hold all responsible parties accountable for their actions. Such incidents highlight the ongoing need for awareness, education, and prevention of hate crimes in our communities.
