NJ hairstylist tried to hire hitman she found on Tinder to kill ex-boyfriend police officer, his daughter

A shocking murder-for-hire plot unfolded in New Jersey, where a 26-year-old woman named Jaclyn Diiorio allegedly tried to orchestrate the killing of her former cop boyfriend and his teenage daughter. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that Diiorio was arrested in Gloucester Township after she initiated contact with a confidential informant to carry out the double murder.
According to reports, Diiorio offered $12,000 to the fake hitman she met on the dating app Tinder to carry out the gruesome act. The target of the plot was her 53-year-old ex-boyfriend, who is a Philadelphia Police Department officer, and his 19-year-old daughter. The criminal complaint filed against Diiorio detailed how she communicated with the informant, meeting at a Wawa in Runnemede on March 31 to discuss the plan.
Authorities stated that Diiorio and the informant exchanged several phone calls and text messages between March 31 and April 3, during which she expressed her desire to have her ex-boyfriend killed and disclosed his occupation as a police officer. The informant promptly reported the murder-for-hire scheme to the county prosecutor on April 3, leading to a swift response from law enforcement.
On April 4, Diiorio met with the informant at a Dollar General store, where she handed over $500 in cash as a down payment for the killings and agreed to pay the rest in installments. However, her plans were thwarted when officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department Special Response Team apprehended her at the scene. During the arrest, police discovered an unlabeled bottle of pills suspected to be alprazolam in her possession.
Diiorio now faces serious charges, including two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. These charges carry hefty penalties, with a first-degree attempted murder conviction potentially resulting in a 10 to 20-year prison sentence in New Jersey State Prison.
Currently held at the Camden County Correctional Facility, Diiorio is scheduled for a detention hearing on April 9 at Camden County Superior Court. Reports indicated that she and her ex-boyfriend, who she met when he was her barber, ended their relationship on March 6. Detectives also uncovered that Diiorio had previously filed a temporary restraining order against the cop in the summer of 2024, which was later dropped.
Additionally, the ex-boyfriend disclosed that his home was targeted in a vandalism incident involving a Molotov cocktail in September 2022. It remains unclear whether this incident is connected to the case against Diiorio or if authorities investigated the vandalism. The shocking nature of this murder-for-hire plot has left the community reeling, with many questioning the motives and circumstances surrounding Diiorio’s actions.
