Second illegal migrant accused in Kristi Noem’s purse snatching ID’d, was released into US despite being handed notice of ‘expedited removal’

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Gucci bag theft has taken a new turn with the identification of the second illegal migrant involved in the incident. Cristian Rodrigo Montecino-Sanzana, a Chilean national, was apprehended in Miami alongside another individual after allegedly stealing Noem’s designer purse containing $3,000 in cash. This revelation comes amidst reports that Montecino-Sanzana had been released into the US despite being issued a notice of “expedited removal” by the US Border Patrol when he was caught attempting to cross the southern border in December.

The arrest of Montecino-Sanzana follows the earlier capture of Mario Bustamante-Leiva in Washington, DC, in connection with the theft. Charges against Bustamante-Leiva are currently pending. The two individuals are suspected of being part of a larger East Coast robbery crew.

Noem, 53, was targeted by a masked thief while enjoying an Easter outing with her family at the Capital Burger in DC. The thief made off with her luxury shoulder bag, which contained her driver’s license, passport, DHS badge, and apartment keys. The stolen items are of significant importance and pose a security risk to the Homeland Security Secretary.
