Walmart selects 25 Colorado stores to be remodeled this year

Walmart has recently unveiled plans to revamp 25 of its Colorado stores throughout the year. The selected locations include stores in Arvada, Denver, Aurora, and Colorado Springs.
The retail giant is set to renovate more than 650 stores nationwide as part of its broader brand refresh initiative.
“Our stores play a vital role in the communities we serve, and these renovations showcase our commitment to enhancing that role,” stated Jay Cordray, Walmart’s senior vice president and West U.S. business operations lead.
The planned updates will include new striking signage and displays to better showcase products, departments offering new merchandise, and an expansion of online pickup and delivery services to meet the increasing demand for online orders.
The pharmacy areas will also undergo a redesign, featuring wider aisles, a private screening room, and checkout zones that provide more privacy for customers.
Over the past few years, Walmart has invested more than $310 million in upgrading stores across Colorado. The following Walmart locations in Colorado have been chosen for remodeling:

- 4080 W. Northern Ave., Pueblo
- 3201 E. Platte Ave., Colorado Springs
- 6310 S. U.S. 85-87, Fountain
- 2881 North Ave., Grand Junction
- 9901 Grant St., Thornton

“When we commit to a store remodel and invest in a location, it’s inspiring to witness the positive impact it has on the community,” expressed Walmart’s vice president of realty execution, Joni Sartain.
“Our focus remains on meeting our customers’ needs in the way they want to be served.”
With 104 retail units and two supply chain facilities, Walmart employs over 29,000 associates in Colorado. In 2024, the retailer contributed $2.7 billion to Colorado-based suppliers, supporting over 28,000 local jobs.
Furthermore, this year, Walmart has generously donated more than 13 million pounds of food to food banks across the state.
