Anthony Michael Hall Joins Netflix’s “Wednesday” Season 2
Anthony Michael Hall has been confirmed to join the cast of Netflix’s “Wednesday” for its upcoming second season. The news was reported by Variety and marks a reunion between Hall and the show’s executive producer and director, Tim Burton, with whom Hall previously collaborated on the 1990 classic “Edward Scissorhands.”
“Wednesday” follows Jenna Ortega in the lead role as the psychic daughter of the “Addams Family” during her time as a student at Nevermore Academy. The first season of the series premiered in November 2022 to critical acclaim, and the second season is set to be released in two parts on August 6 and September 3.
Joining Hall in the new season are other talented actors such as Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. Additionally, notable guest stars include Lady Gaga, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
The returning cast members for “Wednesday” Season 2 include Ortega alongside Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Jamie McShane, and Fred Armisen.
Directed by Tim Burton, Paco Cabezas, and Angela Robinson, “Wednesday” Season 2 is co-created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also serve as showrunners and executive producers. The show is produced by Amazon’s MGM Television.
Anthony Michael Hall, known for his iconic roles in ’80s and ’90s classics such as “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club,” and “Edward Scissorhands,” has recently appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series “Reacher,” as well as the Universal feature “Halloween Kills” and the Netflix movie “Trigger Warning.”
Prior to his involvement in “Wednesday,” Hall was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1985-1986 and made a special appearance during the show’s 50th-anniversary celebration on NBC.
