Joe Biden Melts Down Again, Claims ‘Extreme’ Republicans a ‘Threat to Democracy’

[ad_1]

It is apparently now the official White House talking point for Democrats for the midterm election.

At a Detroit fundraiser for Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday, President Joe Biden launched into yet another fiery tirade against so-called “MAGA forces,” described by Biden as a “threat to democracy.”

The latest attack came after a speech he gave two weeks ago that really had no other point than to attack former President Donald Trump and those that support him.

Republicans ‘Threaten Democracy’

Biden started with, of course, Jan. 6 and “The Big Lie.”

Extreme Republicans don’t just threaten our personal rights and economic security, they embrace political violence. Just look at January 6th — what they’re saying. They refuse to accept the will of the people. Look at them pushing the Big Lie, continually. They threaten our very democracy. I get criticized — I’m not going to take the time, but I got criticized for saying they’re a threat to democracy. Well, a threat to democracy can almost be defined by saying: If you call for political violence or you defend it, and you don’t allow for the legitimate transfer of power, that’s when democracy is at risk.

It seems obvious that this is a focus-grouped line of attack, providing a convenient cover that otherwise would force the President to talk about his atrocious record of soaring inflation, skyrocketing crime and murder rates, and perceived weakness abroad.

It is also rather amusing listening to Democrats talk about “the will of the people.” To this day, Hillary Clinton believes the 2016 election was stolen from her. Same with former President Jimmy Carter.

Every election that Democrats have lost in recent history, they have contested.

They contested both of former President George W. Bush’s wins in 2000 and 2004. Who can forget “hanging chad?”

And they contested the 2016 election. Many still believe that, in addition to being evil, Donald Trump was not duly elected to office.

Democrats, Defenders Of Law Enforcement

Joe Biden continued invoking the “insurrection” of Jan. 6, and said this of “MAGA Republicans”:

“To this day, they defend those who stormed the Capitol on January the 6th. Folks, you can’t be pro-ex- — pro- insurrection and pro-democracy. You can’t say you support law enforcement — (applause). You can’t say you support law enforcement and say the people who attacked — the people who attacked the Capitol on January 6th are patriots. A number of cops ended up dying.

Since when are Democrats such staunch defenders of law enforcement? Biden has been contending for years now with sections of his party demanding we “defund the police.”

The entire summer of 2020, as America’s cities burned, there was nothing but silence from Democrats. Unless they were calling for bailing out rioters like Joe’s Vice President, Kamala Harris.

Joe Biden also wants you to believe that Republicans call for political violence. Another one of Democrats’ greatest hits: Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) calling for people to “create a mob” around anyone associated with the Trump administration.

Was it rabid “MAGA forces” who shot and almost killed Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) as he practiced for a charity baseball game with other Republicans?

What about the man who got as far as standing in front of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home, then called 911 and stated that he was there to kill Kavanaugh over the overturning of Roe v. Wade? Trump supporter, wasn’t he? No.

Just yesterday, Sen. Maizie Hirono (D-HI), called for a “literal call to arms” against the pro-life movement in response to Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) proposal for a national ban on abortion after 15 weeks. Is that a call for just a peaceful protest?

Well, Maybe Not All Republicans

Joe Biden ended his speech with a call for Michiganders to get out and vote.

That’s why those who love this country — Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans — we got to be stronger, more determined, more committed to saving American democracy than the extreme MAGA Republicans are to destroying American democracy. We have to organize, we have to mobilize, and we have to vote. Get out and vote.

The tame ending of the Michigan speech is reminiscent of the day after Biden’s eery red-background speech warning the nation against MAGA Republicans.

Reporters asked if he considered all Trump supporters to be a threat to the country. His response:

“Come on, look, guys, you keep trying to make that case. I don’t consider any Trump supporter to be a threat to the country,”“I do think anyone who calls for the use of violence, fails to condemn violence when it is used, refuses to acknowledge when an election has been won, insists upon changing the way in which they can count votes, that is a threat to democracy. When people voted for Donald Trump and support him now, they weren’t voting for attacking the Capitol, they weren’t voting for overruling an election, they were voting for a philosophy he put forward.”

Maybe Joe Biden was for MAGA Republicans before he was against them.
