Drivers Say These 14 Cars Have the Best Infotainment Systems

The days when cars were simply viewed as transportation are over. Today, many drivers expect vehicles to provide us with much more than merely a way to get from one place to another.

Now, we want to get there in style.

Infotainment systems — which offer a mix of information and entertainment, such as maps and music — are more popular than ever before. Unfortunately, these systems are as likely to disappoint as they are to please.

For a second straight year, vehicle infotainment systems accounted for 25% of problems plaguing new-vehicle owners, according to J.D. Power’s latest annual U.S. Multimedia Quality and Satisfaction Study.

In a press release summarizing the report, Ashley Edgar, senior director of global automotive supplier benchmarking and alternative mobility at J.D. Power, says:

“Car manufacturers and tech companies are working together to create infotainment systems; however, neither is taking responsibility, as satisfaction is clearly on the decline.”

Still, a handful of vehicle models have infotainment systems that earn praise from drivers. J.D. Power has ranked the best of these infotainment systems in four different vehicle segments. The rankings are based on feedback from more than 84,000 purchasers and leasers of new 2022 model-year vehicles surveyed after 90 days of first having their car.

The best infotainment systems — with scores out of a possible 1,000 — are:
