Alabama teacher Jill Brisendine Campbell allegedly raped student, 12

An Alabama middle school teacher, Jill Brisendine Campbell, has recently been charged with raping a 12-year-old student, as reported by the Opelika Police Department. The arrest took place last week after the boy disclosed that Campbell had sexually abused him for several years, starting in 2015 when he was just 12 years old. The charges brought against Campbell include rape and sodomy in the second degree.

According to police statements, the victim alleged that the incidents occurred during his 7th and 8th-grade years while attending Opelika Middle School. Subsequent investigations supported the victim’s claims, revealing evidence that corroborated the abuse.

The criminal complaint accessed by WRBL revealed that Campbell engaged in intercourse and oral sex with the victim until 2017. Shockingly, the abuse was confirmed by the teacher herself through text messages exchanged with the boy during their time at the middle school.

Campbell, a seasoned educator with over 20 years of teaching experience at the school, has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigations. The allegations have shocked the community and raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students under her care.

Opelika Police Chief Shane Healey emphasized the importance of safeguarding students and urged anyone with pertinent information about the case or any other criminal activity to come forward. The investigation was initiated after one of the victim’s parents alerted a school superintendent, who promptly informed the authorities.

Following her arrest, Campbell was released on a $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 7 for further legal proceedings. The case has sparked outrage and calls for justice as the community grapples with the disturbing revelations of abuse within the educational setting.
