And So It Goes’ to Open Tribeca Festival

The 2025 Tribeca Festival will kick off with the opening night film “Billy Joel: And So It Goes,” a two-part documentary produced by HBO. This announcement was made by Tribeca Festival CEO and co-founder Jane Rosenthal at the NAB Show’s Business Show of Entertainment event.

Rosenthal expressed her excitement about honoring Billy Joel, a legendary performer who embodies the spirit of New York City. The festival, which will run from June 4 to 15 in New York City, will feature a diverse lineup of films, music, TV, audio storytelling, live talks, games, and immersive programming.

“Billy Joel: And So It Goes” is described as an expansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, delving into the love, loss, and personal struggles that have influenced his songwriting. The documentary will feature never-before-seen performances, home movies, personal photographs, and in-depth interviews to give viewers an intimate look into Joel’s life and work.

Co-directed and produced by Jessica Levin and Susan Lacy, “Billy Joel: And So It Goes” has received tremendous support from HBO and the Tribeca Festival team. Following its premiere at Tribeca, the documentary will be available for streaming on HBO Max this summer.

The full lineup for the 2025 Tribeca Festival will be announced soon, and passes and ticket packages can be purchased on the Tribeca Festival website. Stay tuned for more updates on this year’s exciting lineup of events and screenings.
