Angel Reese Opens Up About Racist Bullying and AI Harassment from Caitlin Clark’s Fanbase
LSU basketball star Angel Reese has revealed she’s been the target of racist bullying, stalking, and explicit AI-generated images, allegedly from fans of Iowa player Caitlin Clark. In a candid interview, Reese discussed how the harassment began after the two players faced off in the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, where Reese’s LSU Tigers emerged victorious.
Reese, who has been outspoken about the racial double standards she has experienced in sports, stated that the bullying has only escalated since the championship game. She shared that Clark’s fanbase has sent her racially charged messages, followed her movements both online and in-person, and distributed inappropriate AI-generated images of her.
“The racism, the stalking, and the AI photos—this has gone too far,” Reese said. “This isn’t just about basketball anymore.”
Reese has called for stronger measures to combat online harassment, especially for female athletes who frequently endure racial and gender-based abuse. Despite the troubling experience, Reese remains focused on her career, determined not to let the harassment derail her accomplishments.
This situation highlights the ongoing issue of racial bias in sports, especially for Black female athletes who often face disproportionate scrutiny and hate compared to their peers.
