Another mass shooting in Mississippi during a Cinco de Mayo celebration Friday night
A mass shooting at a beach restaurant in Mississippi resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man and six others injured, according to police reports.
During a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Friday night, a 22-year-old gunman whose name has not been disclosed opened fire at The Scratch Kitchen in Ocean Springs, Miss, located about four miles east of Biloxi, as stated by law enforcement officials.
Ocean Springs Police Capt. Ryan LeMaire revealed on Monday that three men and four women were shot at the restaurant, resulting in the death of Chase Harmon from Pascagoula.
LeMaire indicated that at least two victims are still hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, and the other victims’ ages have not been released.
The surviving victims were transported to local hospitals for medical attention, LeMaire said, adding that the shooting suspect appeared to have acted alone.
