Austin Metcalf’s dad trashes ‘Protect White Americans’ protesters who held rally for slain teen: ‘They don’t give a s–t about my family’

The father of Austin Metcalf, a teenager who was tragically killed by Karmelo Anthony, has spoken out against protesters who rallied against Anthony, calling them “race baiters” with their own agendas. Jeff Metcalf expressed his frustration with the group called “Protect White Americans,” who criticized authorities for releasing Anthony, who is black, on bond.

Metcalf was approached by Jake Lang, the founder of the group, who tried to persuade him with statistics about black violence and “white lives matter” rhetoric. Metcalf, however, refused to be associated with the group and demanded that Lang remove photos of his son from their website and event flyers. He also plans to file a complaint with the school board for allowing protesters access to the stadium where his son was killed.

Despite claiming to support the Metcalf family, protesters were accused of disrespecting Austin Metcalf’s memory because of his race. Philip Anderson, a black man who was a featured speaker at the rally, condemned the protesters for their actions. The event attracted around 40 protesters and an equal number of counter-protesters, with a heavy police presence to prevent any violence.

During the rally, a woman was arrested for allegedly pepper-spraying a protester wearing a “Trump” hat. Austin Hunter, the pepper-sprayed protester, plans to press charges against the woman. The clash between the two groups reflects the ongoing racial tensions surrounding the case of Karmelo Anthony, who claims he acted in self-defense when he fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet.

The incident has sparked a heated debate over the handling of Anthony’s case, as he was initially charged with first-degree murder and held on a $1 million bond. However, a judge later reduced the bond to $250,000 and allowed Anthony to be on house arrest. Witnesses of the incident claim that Metcalf had provoked Anthony before the fatal stabbing occurred.

The rally and subsequent events highlight the deep divides and tensions within the community, as both sides continue to advocate for their beliefs and seek justice for the tragic loss of Austin Metcalf.
