Ben Affleck Says He ‘Wouldn’t Tangle’ With Jon Bernthal’s Punisher

Ben Affleck is excited to have Jon Bernthal back for the upcoming sequel to his action film, “The Accountant 2.” However, Affleck made it clear that he has no interest in revisiting Bernthal’s character, Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, from the “Daredevil” series.
During a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Affleck, who portrayed Daredevil in the 2003 film, discussed the evolution of Marvel and the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe under Kevin Feige’s leadership. He also shared his thoughts on the latest series, “Daredevil: Born Again,” which features Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher.
Affleck praised Bernthal’s performance as The Punisher, acknowledging the complexity and depth he brought to the character. Reflecting on his own experience with the Daredevil character, Affleck noted the challenges of balancing the tone of a superhero film, especially before Feige’s influence on the Marvel movies.
While Affleck expressed his admiration for the new Daredevil series on Disney+, he made it clear that he wouldn’t want to cross paths with Bernthal’s Punisher character. He commended the new actor portraying Daredevil and wished him success in the role.
Following Affleck’s portrayal of Daredevil in the 2003 film, the character was adapted into a successful TV series on Netflix, running for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. The series was later rebooted as “Daredevil: Born Again,” now available on Disney+.
Affleck’s comments highlight the ongoing popularity and evolution of Marvel’s characters, as well as the talented actors who bring them to life on screen. Fans can look forward to seeing Bernthal in “The Accountant 2,” while also enjoying the latest rendition of Daredevil in the new series.
