Boys, ages 14 and 15, carjacked 61-year-old at gunpoint, police say

Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 14, are facing serious felony charges after they allegedly committed an armed hijacking of a vehicle from a 61-year-old man on Chicago’s South Side. The incident took place at around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday in the 7900 block of South Shore Drive.
Reports indicate that the juveniles, along with unidentified accomplices, used a firearm to assault the victim and forcibly take his 2012 GMC Acadia. Despite sustaining injuries, the victim’s condition was not deemed to be serious, and paramedics were called to the scene by the Chicago Police Department to provide medical assistance.
The Citywide Vehicular Hijacking Task Force swiftly apprehended the 15-year-old in the 7900 block of South Muskegon and the 14-year-old in the 8000 block of South Muskegon at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Monday.
Both teenagers are now facing charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm. Additionally, the 15-year-old, who was already wanted for a separate incident, is also being charged with the possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
