Whiting’s illustrious career spans years of extraordinary feats, from her time at Stanford University, where she became the Pac-10’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder, to her significant stint in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) with the Detroit Shock. These years were highlighted by exceptional performances, awards, and the honorable WNBA Community Assist Award in 2001.
However, Whiting’s journey extends beyond her basketball triumphs. She battled undiagnosed bipolar depression while actively playing in the league, a struggle she faced courageously, taking necessary steps to prioritize her mental well-being. After her diagnoses in 2011 and 2012, she embarked on a recovery path, managing her conditions with therapy and medication.
Since then, Whiting has transformed her trials into a platform for change, becoming a mindset coach and working with athletes and performers. She provides valuable insights into self-awareness and improvement, empowering her clients to develop a success mindset, boost confidence, gain control of emotions, and foster better commitment. Her coaching strategies have been pivotal in inspiring change and fostering growth among her clients.
