Clue Awards Open 2025 Submissions, Add Scripted TV Category

The prestigious Clue Awards, a true crime-focused event, is currently open for submissions for its upcoming 2025 ceremony. This year, the awards will introduce a new category honoring scripted TV programs alongside its existing categories for various mediums such as podcasts, publishing, and documentaries.

Taking place on September 6 as part of the three-day CrimeCon event, the ceremony will be held at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado. Submissions are welcome for works that premiered between April 1, 2024, and May 30, 2025. Early submissions are encouraged with a discounted price available until May 16, while the regular deadline is set for June 20. Late submissions will be accepted until June 30, with the nominations announcement scheduled between July and August.

The Clue Awards features categories like outstanding episodic series and docuseries in TV and podcasting, as well as recognizing the true crime book of the year and outstanding documentary film. This year marks the first time a scripted TV series category has been included, expanding the scope of the awards.

Past winners of the Clue Awards include acclaimed works like the Netflix documentary “Cyberbunker: The Criminal Underworld,” Dateline NBC’s episode “The Murdaugh Murders: Inside the Investigation,” and Hulu’s series “Me Hereafter.” The nominees and winners are selected by an independent group of true crime creators, producers, and executives, with industry professionals from companies like NBCUniversal, Simon & Schuster, and Campfire Studios participating in the process.

CrimeCon, produced by Red Seat Ventures, is an integral part of the Clue Awards event, offering panels and speaker sessions dedicated to all things true crime. Started in 2017, CrimeCon has grown to become a prominent gathering for true crime enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Keep an eye out for the Clue Awards 2025 ceremony, where the best and brightest in the true crime genre will be celebrated and honored for their outstanding contributions to the industry.
