Columbia anti-Israel agitator Mahmoud Khalil sues to block Columbia, Barnard from releasing student records to Congress

Anti-Israel Protester Sues Columbia University and Barnard College Over Disciplinary Records

Recently detained anti-Israel protester Mahmoud Khalil has taken legal action against Columbia University and Barnard College to prevent them from disclosing disciplinary records to Congress, a practice known as “doxxing.”

Khalil, a Columbia graduate who was arrested by ICE over the weekend, filed a lawsuit against the two universities and the House Committee on Education and Workforce after Committee Chair Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) requested information about students allegedly involved in “pervasive antisemitism.”

The lawsuit argues that sharing this information would violate students’ First Amendment rights by subjecting them to public scrutiny and potentially leading to disciplinary action by the universities.

“The Committee’s attempt to force the Universities to chastise and intimidate student organizers for protected speech is an abuse of its investigative powers,” the filing states.

In addition to this legal action, Khalil has also filed a petition for his release from custody as he remains detained in a Louisiana facility.

The New York Post reached out to representatives for Tim Walberg for comment on the matter.
