Comedian who mocked Puerto Rico at Trump rally gets Netflix deal

Tony Hinchcliffe, the comedian known for his controversial appearance at a Donald Trump rally in Madison Square Garden, has recently signed a deal with Netflix. The announcement was made by the streaming giant on Monday, revealing that Hinchcliffe will be hosting three live comedy show specials, with the first one set to premiere on April 7, as well as his own stand-up special.

In a statement to the press, Hinchcliffe expressed his excitement about the opportunity to showcase his brand of comedy to a global audience. The comedian, who has a popular YouTube channel called Kill Tony with over 2 million subscribers, has been making waves in the comedy scene for years.

Last year, Hinchcliffe made headlines for his controversial set at the Trump rally, where he made disparaging remarks about Puerto Rico, Latinos, and migrants. His joke about Puerto Rico being a “floating island of garbage” sparked outrage and led to a backlash from Puerto Rican celebrities like Aubrey Plaza, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Nicky Jam.

Nicky Jam, who had previously endorsed Trump, revoked his support after the incident, while Jennifer Lopez criticized the comedian at a campaign rally for Kamala Harris. Despite the backlash, Hinchcliffe did not apologize for his remarks, although he did admit that the venue and timing may not have been ideal for his set.

With his new deal with Netflix, Hinchcliffe will have the opportunity to reach a wider audience and showcase his unique brand of comedy. Fans can look forward to his upcoming specials and stand-up show, which are sure to be filled with his signature wit and humor.
