An unfortunate incident occurred early Saturday morning in Deerpark, Orange County, upstate New York, where a woman lost her life after allegedly pointing a handgun at state troopers who were responding to a reported domestic dispute.

The tragic event unfolded at around 2:30 a.m. when state troopers arrived at a residence on Forrest Drive. The town of Deerpark, situated near the Pennsylvania border, became the scene of a fatal encounter between law enforcement and the woman in question.

Upon their arrival, state troopers were informed by a man on the front porch that a woman inside the residence was armed with a knife and a gun. Minutes later, the woman emerged from the house and allegedly pointed a black handgun at the officers. In response, two troopers discharged their firearms, resulting in the fatal outcome.

Following the shooting, the woman was rushed to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, where she succumbed to her injuries. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed as the investigation into the incident continues.
