According to police, a male student shot two faculty members at East High School in Denver on Wednesday morning. The injured individuals were taken to a hospital, with one undergoing surgery and the other in stable condition and able to communicate. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. The shooter, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, has not yet been apprehended.

Emergency responders were alerted to the shooting at approximately 9:50 a.m. local time, and paramedics who were already on-site to treat a student with an allergic reaction were able to provide immediate assistance to the wounded faculty members. The suspect was undergoing a routine morning search by faculty members when the shooting occurred. This search was part of a safety plan agreement made with the student due to past behavioral issues. According to officials, the student had never brought a weapon to school before.

The shooting took place in the school’s front office and did not involve any other students or staff members. Following the incident, the student fled the school. Denver Public Schools stated that they would release students in a “controlled manner” once police allow it.
