Egg creams will flow in NYC’s Coney Island this weekend as Luna Park celebrates its 105th year

Summer is almost here, and Brooklyn is gearing up for an exciting season ahead. Luna Park in Coney Island is set to kick off its 105th season with a bang, hosting a three-day opening weekend extravaganza.
The festivities will begin on Saturday, welcoming thrill-seekers back with new arcade games, revamped retail outlets, and a new patio at Salt & Sizzle. Of course, the iconic Cyclone roller coaster will be ready to provide heart-pounding excitement for its 98th birthday. The annual Egg Cream Christening ceremony will mark the occasion, offering the first 98 riders a free bubbly milk drink and ride.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. The first 105 guests on Deno’s Wonder Wheel will also get a free spin as part of the park’s 40th annual “Blessing of the Rides.” Luna Park is dedicated to preserving the historic Amusement District in New York City and continues to bring joy to visitors year after year.
Following the opening weekend celebration, Luna Park will close briefly before reopening for spring break from April 11 through 20. From then on, the park will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until Memorial Day. Throughout the summer, Luna Park will be open daily, offering a wide range of thrilling attractions and hosting iconic events like the Coney Island Mermaid Parade on June 21.
