Embalmer cuts off dead sex offender’s penis, stabs his groin

The shocking incident at a Texas funeral home where an embalmer allegedly mutilated a dead man’s body has left many stunned. According to reports, Amber Laudermilk, 34, is accused of cutting off the penis of 58-year-old Charles Roy Rodriguez and stuffing it in his mouth upon discovering that he was a registered sex offender.

The gruesome act took place at the Memorial Mortuary & Crematory in Houston, where Laudermilk was overseeing Rodriguez’s body. She reportedly used a scalpel to stab him twice in the groin before castrating him and placing the remains in his mouth. The disturbing scene was witnessed by an embalming student who was present at the time.

Following the mutilation, Laudermilk allegedly warned the student not to speak of what they had witnessed. When questioned by another employee about Rodriguez’s disfigured groin, she simply stated that he had “a lot going on with him.”

Rodriguez, who passed away from natural causes at a Houston hospital in January, was listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety sex offender registry due to a previous conviction of sexually assaulting a woman in 2001. It remains unclear how Laudermilk became aware of Rodriguez’s criminal history.

Harris County Constable Alan Rosen expressed dismay over the incident, emphasizing the importance of treating all individuals with dignity, even in death. He acknowledged the complexities of the case, noting that both the victim and the suspect had troubled pasts.

Laudermilk has since been charged with abuse of a corpse following the funeral home’s report to authorities. The case has sparked outrage and disbelief, with many calling for justice to be served. Rosen hopes that Laudermilk receives the necessary help and support to address any underlying issues that may have led to such a horrific act.

As the investigation unfolds, the community grapples with the disturbing nature of the incident and the implications it holds for the funeral home industry. The need for respect, professionalism, and compassion in handling deceased individuals is underscored, reminding us of the importance of upholding standards of dignity and integrity in all aspects of funeral services.
