Empowering Change: Jessica Hardin’s Mission to Support Women in Need
In the heart of South Atlanta, Jessica Hardin is quietly leading a movement of care, dignity, and support for women facing life’s toughest challenges. Her nonprofit organization, All Things Glam with Jah, has become a lifeline for women in transitional housing or experiencing homelessness, offering not only essential hygiene items but also an outpouring of genuine companionship and compassion.
Jessica’s path to founding All Things Glam with Jah was deeply personal. In September of 2023, she survived a car accident that could have been fatal, and the experience reshaped her view of life and purpose. With renewed resolve, she felt a profound call to give back, especially to women who, like her, had encountered unexpected hardships. “I knew I wanted to help, to create a space of respect and care for women who have been through so much,” Jessica shares. Today, her nonprofit serves as a safe haven for those who may have lost nearly everything, helping them regain a sense of dignity and hope.
All Things Glam with Jah provides thoughtfully curated care packages to women in shelters and transitional homes, filled with high-quality products that Jessica herself hand-picks. From body wash and real Vaseline to luxury items like Bath & Body Works lotions, Jessica’s aim is to offer these women the same comforts she values in her own life. “You shouldn’t give anything you wouldn’t use yourself,” she explains. This simple but powerful principle drives her to source the best products, avoiding items that could be harmful or prohibited in shelters, like alcohol-based mouthwash or hand sanitizers. Her attention to these details ensures that her donations meet the specific needs of the women she serves.
Yet, for Jessica, the work of All Things Glam with Jah is much more than distributing care packages. Jessica sees each interaction as an opportunity to connect and listen. When she visits shelters, she doesn’t just drop off supplies—she spends time with the women, organizing gatherings filled with warmth and lighthearted activities. Recently, on her own birthday, Jessica hosted a small party with lemonade stands, pizza, and a movie night. “It’s not just about the items,” Jessica says, “it’s about showing them they are valued and cared for.” By creating a space where these women can feel comfortable, Jessica provides a sense of normalcy and friendship, a reminder that they are not alone.
Her work has been met with gratitude and heartfelt appreciation from the women she supports. Some are survivors of abuse, others are struggling to rebuild after financial setbacks or other personal crises. Many have expressed how much these simple gatherings mean, how rare it is to find someone who genuinely listens to their stories. Through Jessica’s kindness, they are reminded of their strength and potential, and for many, this interaction is a stepping stone toward a better future.
Jessica’s commitment to All Things Glam with Jah goes beyond the call of duty, especially considering her full-time job as a teacher and her ongoing graduate studies. Balancing these roles is no easy task, but she finds motivation in her belief that every act of kindness counts. Supported by her family, Jessica relies on a deep sense of purpose to keep going, even when the workload becomes overwhelming. “There’s always a way to make time for what matters,” she notes, “and for me, this work matters deeply.”
Reflecting on the journey of running a nonprofit, Jessica is open about the challenges she’s faced. In the early days, it was difficult to navigate the process of gaining access to shelters and understanding the specific needs of the women there. But with persistence and the guidance of mentors, she built a framework that allowed All Things Glam with Jah to thrive. Today, the organization is growing, thanks in part to volunteers and the support of community members who believe in Jessica’s vision.
As Jessica continues to expand the organization, her hope is to inspire others to give back in their own communities. “If more people took just a little time to make someone else’s day better, we’d all see the impact,” she says. Through All Things Glam with Jah, she has created a model of service that is rooted in compassion and respect, empowering women by showing them that they are worth caring for.
