Ex-MSNBC Legal Analyst Has A Prediction For Trump

According to former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner, President Donald Trump and his Department of Justice may face criminal contempt charges for defying U.S District Judge James E. Boasberg’s orders to stop recent deportations.

Last week, Trump used an 18th-century wartime act to deport hundreds of immigrants to a prison in El Salvador, despite Boasberg’s verbal order. The White House has called for the impeachment of the judge, whom they labeled a “Democrat activist.”

During an appearance on “The Dean Obeidallah Show,” Kirschner discussed the potential consequences of these actions.

He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “We are going to see the C-word uttered very soon — contempt. It will likely start as civil contempt and may escalate to criminal contempt.”

The administration’s defiance led to a back-and-forth with Boasberg, with the Justice Department characterizing the judge’s demand for information as a minor issue rather than a violation of his order.

Trump’s claim that he did not sign the deportation document invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, despite his name being visible at the bottom, has raised further questions about the situation.

Kirschner warned that the situation could escalate, with the possibility of an independent prosecutor being appointed to handle the case if Trump continues to defy court orders.

It remains to be seen how this legal battle will unfold, but the implications could be significant for both Trump and his administration.
