FBI Probes Threats Against Colorado Justices Over Trump Ballot Ruling
The FBI is investigating a series of threats directed at Colorado Supreme Court justices following their decision to disqualify former President Donald Trump from appearing on the state’s 2024 primary ballot. This ruling, based on the Constitution’s insurrection clause, has led to a surge in violent threats on social media. The decision by the Colorado justices was a response to a lawsuit filed by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, claiming Trump violated the Insurrection Clause. Despite being disqualified only in Colorado, similar lawsuits challenging Trump’s candidacy have been filed in 25 states. Trump is expected to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.
