Fertility start-up Lushi aims to streamline egg-freezing, IVF

Wellness Company Lushi Revolutionizes Fertility Industry

After selling her PR firm for $75 million, Jessica Schaefer is back with a new venture. Lushi, a wellness company for women, focuses on fertility and connects users with concierge doctors and nurses for services like egg freezing and IVF.

With a personal experience of egg freezing mishap, Schaefer is determined to guide women through the fertility process. She emphasizes the importance of handling every step, from monitoring hormones to education, to ensure a smooth journey.

Celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Kourtney Kardashian have openly shared their fertility stories, contributing to the growing awareness around the $30 billion fertility industry.

Recognizing the complexity and cost of fertility treatments, Lushi aims to streamline the process by offering at-home injections by nurses, AI support, on-call doctors, and customized wellness plans. The platform manages the entire treatment process, providing convenience and support to users.

To fund the expansion of Lushi, Schaefer has raised over $5 million. She has turned down a $5 million private equity investment to retain control and ownership of the company.

Looking ahead, Lushi plans to expand into all areas of women’s health, including pre- and post-menopause care. The company is set to launch medical centers and event series in New York and Los Angeles.

With a creative approach to branding, Lushi’s ad campaigns and brand identity reflect Schaefer’s vision for the company. She is also advocating for insurance coverage of fertility treatments, hoping for support from the new administration.

As Schaefer aims for further growth and impact, she has her sights set on potential partnerships, including one with Elon Musk. With innovative solutions and a strong commitment to women’s health, Lushi is poised to make a significant mark in the fertility industry.
