First ‘The View,’ Now MSNBC Makes Graphic Homophobic Jokes About Lindsey Graham

By Dr. Derek Ellerman

It’s become cliche at this point, but modern American leftism appears to be little more than a mental affliction for projecting one’s own fear and loathing onto others.

Case in point – two recent homophobic attacks from far-left TV shows about Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

First it was “The View,” the central repository for smug, urban faux-elites, whose co-host Whoopi Goldberg made a gay marriage joke about the Senator.

Not to be left out, MSNBC joined in the fun to prove their inclusive, diversity-loving bonafides – with an alleged comedian shouting of Graham, “He’s never seen a vagina! He’s never seen a naked woman!”

Of course, other tolerant leftists were more than happy to join in on the joke.

Homophobia On Parade At MSNBC

As with the earlier incident on “The View,” the anti-gay attacks on Graham stemmed from MSNBC discussing his proposed national abortion ban after 15 weeks. (Something The Political Insider’s Rusty Weiss has argued was an unnecessary own-goal.)

Stephanie Ruhle’s program “The 11th Hour” was discussing the Graham bill, when Ruhle teed up her guests, who were clearly just champing at the bit:

“Well I know all of you have something to say about Lindsey Graham. Lindsey Graham, who is more than doubling down, he is going further, pushing a federal ban, a national ban on abortion. I want you to first help me understand, why would he even be doing this? They overturned Roe v. Wade. So for that portion of their base who wanted that, you got what you wanted.”

After some cross talk, alleged “comedian” Judy Gold chimed in:

“He’s telling women what to do with their bodies. He’s never seen a vagina! He’s never seen a naked woman! And he is telling me…”

The whole group burst out laughing at the implication.

MSNBC Follows “The View”

Last week on “The View,” alleged “comedian” Whoopi Goldberg made a similar joke – this time with the guest being White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, an actual comedian.

Leading off with discussion about Graham’s abortion bill, Jean-Pierre said, “Senator Graham had said maybe about a month ago, early August, that he believes when it comes to marriage, when it comes to abortion, it’s for states to decide. So, Senator Graham, what changed?”

Goldberg replied,

“Maybe he’s getting married. Do it quick, because I know people are fooling around with our marriage rights, wherever you stand.”

The reference is the baseless claim that Republicans are itching to get rid of gay marriage, which would presumably hurt Lindsey Graham.

Get it?

Watch:

Goldberg had the foresight to realize her utter and transparent hypocrisy, and tried to hide behind comedy: “I need to make clear that I was doing what I do as a comic. Sometimes I make jokes, and it was a joke. Nothing more than that.”

Alluding that she got a stern talking-to by producers during the commercial break, she continued: “I just got a whole conversation about people misunderstanding the joke. I should probably never do this show again if this is what it’s coming to.”

It’s been coming to that, Whoopi. People have been talking about cancel culture for years now.

Graham’s Abortion Bill

As for Graham’s abortion bill, The Political Insider’s Rusty Weiss pointed out Graham’s flip-flop on it being a state or federal matter.

As most readers know, the Supreme Court’s case in Dobbs effectively overturned Roe v. Wade, making abortion legally the realm of state law.

And the timing couldn’t have been worse, as Weiss pointed out: “While the substance of the bill itself is fine, the calculation of announcing it yesterday while Democrats had to defend their economic incompetence all day due to the inflation report, is plain dumb.”

Journalist Kyle Becker summed up the stance succinctly:
