Google Launches ‘Gemini With Personalization’

Google Unveils Gemini with Personalization: A Closer Look at the Latest Update
Recently, there was speculation about Gemini’s ability to access users’ search history, and Google has officially confirmed this with the release of ‘Gemini with personalization’. This new feature, powered by the experimental Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking model, allows Gemini to tap into your Google apps and services, starting with Search. By incorporating your search history into its responses, Gemini aims to better understand your preferences and offer more tailored results.
Currently, Gemini with personalization is available as an experimental feature for online users of Gemini and Gemini Advanced, with plans to expand to mobile devices in the near future. While it supports over 45 languages in most countries, it is not yet available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the UK.
While the introduction of Gemini with personalization brings benefits for users, it also raises concerns about privacy and data security. Google emphasizes that users have control over this feature, as opting in is required, and you can disconnect your search history from Gemini at any time.
Google assures users that Gemini will only access their search history when deemed necessary by its advanced reasoning models, but this does not mean that data is not being collected. Recent research by Surfshark reveals that Google’s AI collects the most user data compared to other chatbots. Gemini collects a staggering 22 types of data, surpassing the data collection of popular chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and DeepSeek AI.
