Predator on the Loose in Brooklyn: Four Women Assaulted in Three Weeks
A predator has been on the loose in Brooklyn, targeting women of various ages in a series of sexual assaults over the past three weeks. The suspect has shown a disturbing pattern of behavior, with the attacks occurring at different times of the day and in different neighborhoods.
The first incident took place in Dumbo on March 19, when a 30-year-old woman was ambushed from behind near Gold and Front streets at 6:45 a.m. The assailant grabbed her waist and forced himself onto her before fleeing the scene.
Just 11 days later, a 21-year-old woman fell victim to the same predator only 10 blocks away. The attacker pinned her down by wrapping his arms and legs around her as she walked near Middagh and Willow streets.
On March 30, a 34-year-old woman was assaulted near Henry and Joralemon streets around 10:30 p.m. The predator displayed the same lewd behavior, further highlighting the brazen nature of his actions.
The most recent incident occurred in Fort Greene, where a 60-year-old woman was molested as she walked near Fulton Street and Ashland Place in the early hours of the morning.
Despite the traumatic experiences, none of the victims sustained physical injuries. The NYPD has released surveillance footage of the suspect, who was captured wearing a black hoodie, jacket, sweatpants, and bright white sneakers. Another image shows him in bright red sweatpants.
The authorities are urging anyone with information about the crimes to come forward and contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website or @NYPDTips on social media.
