The Historic Hotel Boulderado in Boulder Under New Ownership
The iconic Hotel Boulderado in Boulder is undergoing a change in ownership as Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners, a Nashville-based real estate and hospitality company, has acquired the property from longtime owners Frank and Gina Day.
Ben Weprin, founder of Graduate Hotels and CEO of AJ Capital Partners, expressed excitement about the acquisition, highlighting the significance of the Boulderado as a key part of Boulder’s unique charm and character.
AJ Capital Partners plans to maintain the hotel’s name and preserve its signature architectural elements while enhancing the guest experience through redesigned rooms and refreshed public spaces.
The Boulderado is part of Concept Restaurants Inc., founded by Frank Day, a prominent figure in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Day has been involved with the management of Hotel Boulderado since 1980 and has expanded his portfolio to include other properties in Colorado.
The Days expressed confidence in AJ Capital Partners’ ability to elevate the Boulderado to new heights based on their successful track record with other historic hotels.
Renovations are set to begin later this year with the goal of joining the Graduate by Hilton collection upon completion. The hotel will remain open during the renovation process, with an expected completion date in spring 2026.
