How to Get Netflix for $6.99 a Month

[ad_1]

If inflation is crimping your wallet, Netflix has some good news: Soon, you can get the streaming service for just $6.99 per month.

On Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. PT, Netflix will launch Basic with Ads, an ad-supported plan. The U.S. is one of 12 countries where the plan will be offered.

For the most part, this is the same as Netflix Basic, which costs $9.99 a month. However, there are a few key differences, in that Basic with Ads:

  • Will feature an average of four to five minutes of ads per hour.
  • Will not offer access to a limited number of movies and TV shows that are unavailable due to licensing restrictions. Netflix says it is “working on” making these programs available at some point.
  • Will not offer the ability to download titles.

In addition, beginning in November, both Netflix Basic and Netflix Basic with Ads will offer video quality up to 720p/HD.

Netflix says each ad that runs on the Basic with Ads plan will run for 15 to 30 seconds and will play either before or during a film or show.

The new, cheaper Netflix plan is likely to cheer consumers, arriving at a time of rising prices throughout the economy, and a long trend of increasing subscriber costs for streaming service plans.
