Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate return to Romania after weeks in U.S.

Andrew and Tristan Tate, the influencer brothers facing charges of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women in Romania, have returned to Bucharest after spending weeks in the United States. The dual U.S. and British citizens were arrested in Romania in late 2022 and have been indicted on allegations of participating in a criminal ring that lured women to Romania for sexual exploitation, with Andrew Tate also facing a rape charge. The brothers deny all accusations against them.

Upon their arrival at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport early Saturday morning, Andrew Tate expressed his determination to clear their names in court, stating, “Innocent men don’t run from anything.” The brothers are currently under judicial control, requiring them to appear before Romanian authorities when summoned. Their return to Romania follows the lifting of a travel ban imposed on them in February.

During their time in the United States, the Tates’ case garnered attention, with Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier opening a criminal investigation into the brothers on March 4. Andrew Tate dismissed the investigation as an attempt to find a crime where none exists, emphasizing his innocence in a social media post.

The Tates’ legal battles extend beyond Romania, with four British women suing Andrew Tate in the U.K. for sexual violence and physical abuse. Additionally, a U.K. court ruled to seize $3.3 million worth of frozen assets from the brothers to cover unpaid taxes. In a separate case dating back to 2012-2015, U.K. authorities issued arrest warrants over allegations of sexual aggression, leading to a request for extradition that will only be considered after legal proceedings in Romania conclude.

Despite the ongoing legal challenges, Andrew Tate remains defiant, asserting that there is a political conspiracy to silence him and that he and his brother will prove their innocence in court. The brothers’ high-profile case has drawn international scrutiny, with their return to Romania marking a pivotal moment in their legal saga.
