Although France lost against Argentina in the World Cup final on Sunday, Kylian Mbappé reassured his country’s supporters that the future is still bright for France’s national team. Mbappé, who lost in penalty kicks against Argentina after scoring a hat-trick, went to Twitter to deliver an encouraging message to the French supporters.

“We will return,” Mbappe wrote in French.
After scoring eight goals in seven matches, Mbappé earned the Golden Boot award at the World Cup in Qatar. Geoff Hurst was the only men’s player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final until the 23-year-old did it according to the Daily Mail.

Mbappé has now scored 12 goals in two World Cups for a total of 24 career World Cup goals. That is the total for Brazilian legend Pelé.

France has played in four of the last seven World Cup finals, and won half of their appearances.
