Meta adds former Trump advisor to its board

Meta announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors, including Dina Powell McCormick, who previously served in President Donald Trump’s administration.
Powell McCormick, a former deputy national security advisor to Trump, is married to Sen. Dave McCormick from Pennsylvania.
She was also an assistant Secretary of State under President George W. Bush and has a background in finance, having worked at Goldman Sachs for 16 years.
Her appointment reflects Meta’s alignment with Republicans, especially after Trump’s return to the political scene.
Meta also welcomed Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe, to the board, bringing valuable experience to the company.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, emphasized the business acumen that Powell McCormick and Collison bring to the board.
Zuckerberg’s recent interactions with Trump and his purchase of a mansion in Washington, D.C., have raised speculation about Meta’s future direction.
Powell McCormick and Collison officially joined Meta’s board of directors on April 15.
