MSNBC Blindsided When PA Voters Repeatedly Correct Host’s Narrative About Capitol Riot

[ad_1]

A focus group empaneled by MSNBC repeatedly corrected false statements by correspondent Elise Jordan as she tried to push left-wing narratives about the January 6 riot at the Capitol, a segment that left colleague Joe Scarborough stunned.

The group, made up of 10 individuals from the Pittsburgh area and clearly leaning on the side of supporting former President Trump, was at first presented with the notion that anybody appearing at the protest at the time was somehow equivalent to any that acted in a criminal manner.

Jordan noted that Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano was at the “insurrection” and wondered if that should disqualify him from running for office.

“Which area?” one focus group member asked the MSNBC journalist. “Because I saw a video where Capitol officers were taking away barriers and unlocking doors.”

The group agreed that Mastriano’s mere presence at a mostly peaceful protest was not disqualifying.

MSNBC Left Stunned by Focus Group

Later on in the segment, the focus group felt compelled to explain to MSNBC’s Elise Jordan that the only person who was killed during the January 6 riot at the Capitol was unarmed Air Force veteran and avid supporter of former President Trump, Ashli Babbitt.

She was shot by a Capitol Police officer.

Jordan pushed back, “A police officer did die.”

But, the group noted, he died of natural causes stemming from a stroke he suffered the day after the riot. He was not killed by protesters, as the media has repeatedly insinuated.

Desperate to get the focus group to acknowledge the perceived seriousness of the events of January 6, Jordan pressed, “So what do you make, though, overall of January 6?”

“I mean, it was, watching that footage, it was pretty disturbing,” she added. “I mean, there were people throwing excrement at the walls, and it was, you know, it was the Capitol.”

One member of the focus group shrugged it off, pointing out that it was little different from the race riots or Antifa riots throughout the country over the last several years.

“It was a lot like Antifa’s actions,” one woman replied while another panelist added, “Except on a much smaller scale, it looked the same as the Black Lives Matter riots.”

Joe Scarborough Left Stunned

The entire segment with the MSNBC focus group left perpetually befuddled anchor Joe Scarborough seemingly stunned.

“I really don’t know where to start here,” he said after viewing the clip. But he knew exactly where to start, attempting to correct the ‘misinformation’ coming from the group by spreading the same lies about police officers dying as a direct result of the Capitol riot.

“And that, again, they’re saying it just that that they were mainly peaceful protests and that nobody died except for a protester. There are four cops who died,” Scarborough asserted.

“And one of those cops died after an interaction here.”

Of course, what he’s asserting is factually incorrect.

Yes, certain individuals definitely escalated things by breaching the Capitol, but they did not kill five police officers.

There were five officers in question who protected the Capitol during their service, but none were killed on January 6th.

The individual Scarborough and Jordan are referring to – Officer Brian Sicknick – died of a stroke the day after the riot and his death was ruled by “natural” causes and not “hastened by an injury.”

The others are as follows:

All of these deaths are tragic, but no one was killed by protesters.

It is important to remember that a total of four people died during the Capitol riot – Babbitt, along with two people who suffered a cardiac event and another who overdosed.

“I don’t really know, this is just one of these moments, and again, I have friends and family members that think like this,” Scarborough added. “I don’t know where they’re getting their information.”

Scarborough and Jordan are getting their information from MSNBC. It speaks volumes that a focus group of people they pulled in off the street had to correct the misinformation they’re peddling.
