NBC Cheerleading Comedy Pilot ‘Stumble’ Casts Jenn Lyon in Lead Role

Jenn Lyon has landed a leading role in the upcoming NBC comedy pilot “Stumble,” according to a report from Variety. The pilot, which was first announced in March, is described as a mockumentary that follows the competitive world of junior college cheerleading.

Lyon will play the role of Courtney Potter, a former successful coach in the world of junior college cheer who experiences a fall from grace after a scandalous video surfaces. Forced to take a coaching job at a small, unknown school, Courtney must lead a team of misfits to victory in the championship.

Best known for her role in the TNT series “Claws,” Lyon has also appeared in shows like “Happy Face,” “Dead Boy Detectives,” and “Elsbeth.” She is set to star in the upcoming Netflix series “Sirens” alongside Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Kevin Bacon.

The pilot is being written and executive produced by Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof, with Dana Honor and cheerleading coach Monica Aldama also serving as executive producers. Jeff Blitz will direct and executive produce the pilot, which is being produced by Universal Television.

Lyon is represented by SDB Partners, Talentworks, Principal Entertainment LA, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
