NYC mom, boyfriend busted after kids found apparently malnourished, toddler tied to be with sweatshirt: sources

A shocking incident unfolded in Brooklyn this week, as a mother and her boyfriend were arrested after police discovered three malnourished children inside their home. One of the children, a 3-year-old boy, was found tied to a bed with a sweatshirt, while the other two, a 6-year-old girl and a 10-month-old girl, were left unattended. The distressing scene was uncovered when the cousin of the boyfriend arrived at the apartment on Linden Street in Bushwick around 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday.
The boy’s wrists were bound to the bed, and all three children displayed signs of severe malnourishment. Shockingly, the couple was found sleeping in another room while the children were left unattended. The cousin immediately contacted the authorities, who arrived at the scene and rescued the neglected children.
The children were rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition. The 3-year-old boy was found to have swelling on his wrists as a result of being tied up. Charges are currently pending against the 25-year-old mother and her 26-year-old boyfriend, and the city’s Administration for Children’s Services has been alerted to the situation.
This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of all children. It is crucial for communities to remain vigilant and report any signs of neglect or abuse to the appropriate authorities. Our thoughts are with the children as they recover from this traumatic experience, and we hope that they receive the care and support they need to heal from this ordeal.
