Patti LaBelle escorted off stage in Milwaukee due to bomb threat
Patti LaBelle’s concert at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee was abruptly ended on Saturday when a bomb threat was reported. LaBelle was rushed off the stage during the chaotic scene according to KTVZ.
The singer was escorted off the stage by security in the middle of her performance, as seen in a video posted to social media.
“Wait,” the confused artist said, “I’m not done yet.”
The sudden turn of events seemed to shock the crowd just as much.
People can be heard saying “What happened?”
Pattie LaBelle’s concert at the Riverside Theater was postponed due to a bomb threat, according to a statement from Pabst Theater Group.
”We would like to thank the Milwaukee Police Department for their efforts in ensuring the safety of our customers and staff as they exited the building. “The organizer stated that they are working with the artist to reschedule the show.”
The attendees of the concert were safely evacuated according to police.
David Salazar said
“All patrons have been safely evacuated from the 100 block of W. Wisconsin,” Milwaukee Police Capt. David Salazar said regarding the bomb threat. “Warren E. Allen Jr. told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,” said the source. ”
This facility is being cleared by police at the moment. The investigation is still going on and it is constantly changing.
“No explosive devices were discovered,” said Allen, “the building was searched by K9 units.”
He added that there is no threat to the public at this time.
“The evacuation happened barely two songs into LaBelle’s performance,” said Catherine Brunson, who was attending Saturday’s concert.
Brunson told the Sentinel that somebody got on a microphone and said they had to evacuate the building because there was a bomb threat. ”
The police had the block taped off when we came out. Many people were very upset. “It’s scary.”
