Piccorini Morini restaurant to open in Nolita in June
Piccorini Morini to Open in Nolita this June
A new Italian eatery, Piccorini Morini, is set to launch in Nolita this June, offering a modern twist on the beloved Osteria Morini that was once located in Soho. The restaurant will be located on the ground floor of The Nolitan Hotel at 40 Kenmare Street, featuring a “design forward” space with fresh pasta, curated small plates, and $9 Martinis.
Owned by the Altamarea Group, known for its successful restaurants like Osteria Morini, the new Piccorini Morini will also include a rooftop space at the same address. Osteria Morini had a successful run of nearly 15 years before closing in June 2024 due to rent escalations.
According to Ahmass Fakahany, Founder & CEO of Altamarea Group, the closure of Osteria Morini allowed them to reimagine the concept for today’s dining scene. The new Piccorini Morini will focus on small plates, pasta craftsmanship, and regional Italian flavors.
The restaurant will feature a 52-seat main dining room, a 20-seat bar and lounge, a 20-seat semi-private dining room, and 42 outdoor seats. The space is designed by Alsún Keogh of nusla design, who aims to create a modern interpretation of an Italian grandmother’s apartment.
With three different “moods” under the Morini brand – Osteria Morini, Cucina Morini, and Piccolo Morini – Altamarea Group continues to expand its presence in the culinary scene. The deal for the new space was brokered by Alexandra Turboff of MONA Retail Holdings and Brett Nidel of Veracity NYC.
Altamarea Group’s portfolio also includes popular restaurants like Marea, Ai Fiori, 53, and Crazy Pizza.
